Why Baby Bottles and Craft Containers Are the Trickiest Bottles to Blow Mould — and Why This Series Handles Them Well
Most blow moulding machines are optimised for one thing: high output on a standard bottle shape. Shampoo bottles, water bottles, oil jugs — round cross-section, consistent wall, predictable material behaviour. That’s fine for commodity production. But baby bottles, craft flacons, and special-shaped containers are a completely different engineering challenge.
Baby feeding bottles in PP or Tritan need to process at higher temperatures than PET (PP melts at around 160–170°C, PPSU higher again), they often have wide necks that don’t stretch the same way a narrow beverage bottle does, and the finished container has to meet infant safety standards that most packaging isn’t tested against — no BPA, no heavy metal migration, no surface defects that could harbour bacteria.
Craft and decorative bottles add a different layer of difficulty: faceted surfaces, embossed patterns, asymmetric profiles, flat or oval cross-sections. These shapes require very precise preform conditioning because any hot spot in the preform will blow out unevenly, ruining the surface detail the mould is designed to capture.
The HGA.FS, HGA.P, HGA.ES, and HGA.JS models in this series address both problems directly — extended conditioning dwell time for thick-walled PP and PPSU preforms, and the thermal precision needed to reproduce complex surface geometry consistently across every cycle.

The HGA.P Models Have Barrel Configurations Specifically for PP and High-Temperature Resins
Standard ISBM machines are tuned for PET, which melts at around 260°C. PP runs at 160–170°C but behaves very differently — it’s more viscous, it cools faster, and it needs more consistent conditioning to blow evenly without cold spots. The HGA.P models in this series use extended conditioning dwell times and independently controlled heating zones to manage PP’s narrower processing window. The same applies to PPSU, which processes at 340–380°C and needs high-temperature barrel alloys that standard PET machines can’t handle without degrading the material.
Closed Single-Stage Cycle Keeps Baby Bottle Interiors Contamination-Free Without Extra Cleaning Steps
In a two-stage process, preforms are stored in open hoppers, transported on conveyors, and fed into a second machine — every one of those steps is an opportunity for dust, particulate, or microbial contamination to enter the bottle cavity. For infant feeding bottles, that’s not an acceptable risk. The ISBM single-stage cycle goes from resin pellet to finished bottle entirely within the machine, with no preform leaving the controlled environment between injection and blow moulding. The interior surface of every bottle is inherently clean on ejection — which simplifies your quality validation considerably if you’re supplying to retail with infant safety claims.
Special-Shaped Bottles Depend on Preform Temperature Uniformity — This Is Where Two-Stage Processes Fail
Faceted perfume flacons, flat oval craft bottles, multi-sided decorative containers — these shapes require the preform to be at precisely the right temperature across its entire wall before blowing begins. If any zone is 5–8°C hotter than the surrounding area, that zone will blow out faster, creating a thin wall section in the final bottle that distorts the intended surface geometry. In a reheat two-stage process, this temperature variation is introduced by uneven infrared lamp heating during the preform reheating stage. ISBM avoids this entirely because the preform goes directly from injection into the conditioning station while it still holds uniform heat from the injection cycle — far less variation to manage.
JS-4C114 at 2,800 BPH — When You Need Volume Without Sacrificing PP Precision
The HGA.JS-4C114 is the highest-output model in this series at 2,800 bottles per hour, running 4 cavities on containers up to 1,000 ml with a 40 mm neck. At 64 kW installed power and 30 kW normal operating power, it’s built for PP bottle production at scale — the kind of daily output (around 56,000 bottles per 20-hour shift) that a mid-size personal care or baby product manufacturer actually needs. The 40 mm neck covers standard baby bottle closure formats and most sport bottle cap fitments.
Single-Cavity FS Models Are the Right Tool for Premium Low-Volume Craft and Decorative Bottle Production
Not every bottle needs 2,000 BPH. Craft bottle manufacturers, artisan spirits producers, luxury personal care brands, and decorative gift packaging businesses often run SKUs at 50,000–200,000 units per year — volume ranges where a single-cavity machine at 600–700 BPH is perfectly adequate and dramatically more capital-efficient than a 4- or 6-cavity setup. The FS-1CG series (four single-cavity models from 1,500 ml to 5,000 ml) is designed precisely for this use case: premium, low-volume, high-complexity container production where surface quality and shape fidelity matter more than output rate.
