One Machine Platform for Water Bottle, Beverage Bottle, Pesticide Container, and Industrial Chemical Jug Production

Most plastic bottle manufacturers end up running separate machines for different container categories — one machine for mineral water bottles, another for chemical containers — because the material requirements and neck finishes differ significantly. This series consolidates that. The HGA.ES and HGA.JS families cover everything from 500 ml standard PET water bottles to 22-litre HDPE-equivalent containers for agricultural chemicals, using the same ISBM single-stage process throughout.

The single-stage ISBM process means: PET (or PP/PETG) granules go in, finished bottles come out in one continuous cycle. No preform storage between stages, no second-stage reheat energy cost, no inter-stage contamination window. For beverage lines this means better optical clarity from tighter thermal control; for pesticide and agrochemical containers, it means better chemical resistance from the improved molecular orientation that biaxial stretching delivers.

The range includes models from 2 to 8 cavities, covering commodity production at up to 9,200 bph (HGA.ES-8C76) down to specialty large-format containers at 700 bph (HGA.JS-2C366, the 22-litre model). Model naming tells you the cavity count and preform holder size, which correlates directly to target container size and neck diameter.

Why Choose an ISBM Machine for Water Bottle, Beverage Bottle, and Pesticide Container Manufacturing?

PET water bottle blow molding machine · chemical-resistant pesticide bottle production · beverage bottle ISBM single-stage process

01

Biaxial Stretching Improves Barrier Properties for Carbonated Beverages and Chemical Containment

The stretch rod in the ISBM process elongates the preform axially before the radial blow — this biaxial orientation increases PET’s CO₂ barrier by 30–40% compared to non-oriented PET. For carbonated beverage bottles, that means longer shelf life before carbonation loss. For pesticide and agrochemical containers, it means reduced permeation of active ingredients through the container wall — a compliance requirement in many markets where container integrity is tested under UN transport regulations for dangerous goods (UN 3H1, UN 3H2 standards for liquid agrochemicals).

02

8-Cavity Mineral Water Bottle Production at 9,200 BPH on the HGA.ES-8C76

The ES-8C76 is the highest-output model in the series, running 8 cavities at up to 9,200 bottles per hour for small-format containers (500–700 ml range, 38 mm neck). For high-volume mineral water bottle lines, this single machine can supply a medium-scale filling operation without requiring multiple machines. At 72 kW installed power and 35 kW normal operating power, the per-bottle energy cost is competitive with two-stage reheat SBM lines of similar output, without the capital cost of a separate preform production unit.

03

22-Litre Container Capability on the HGA.JS-2C366 for Agricultural Chemical and Industrial Use

The HGA.JS-2C366 is a 2-cavity large-format model handling containers up to 22,000 ml with a 90 mm neck. This covers 20-litre agrochemical jugs, industrial solvent containers, and bulk water dispenser bottles. At 700 bph, this is a specialty production model, not a commodity line — the economics work for producers supplying premium or specialized container formats where ISBM quality (no seam lines, better wall thickness uniformity, superior clarity vs extrusion) justifies the per-unit cost over EBM alternatives.

04

PP Material Option for Chemical-Resistant Pesticide Container Production

PET handles most beverage and mild chemical applications, but strong solvents, concentrated acids, and certain pesticide formulations require a more chemically resistant material. PP (polypropylene) on this machine provides resistance to a wider range of agrochemicals, including organophosphate-based pesticides and herbicide concentrates. PP also handles temperatures up to 120°C, making it suitable for hot-filled agrochemical products. The machine switches between PET and PP material runs with mold and temperature profile changes — no structural platform modification required.

05

Servo-Hydraulic Drive System Reduces Running Cost Across Long Production Shifts

The ES-series models use servo-hydraulic drive that matches hydraulic pump output to actual cycle demand rather than running at constant pressure. In a 20-hour production day, fixed-displacement hydraulic systems waste energy generating heat in pressure-relief circuits for much of the cycle. Servo-matched systems cut this waste, reducing hydraulic energy consumption by 30–50% and cutting oil operating temperature — which extends seal life and reduces hydraulic oil change frequency. For water and beverage lines running 2–3 shifts daily, this operating cost reduction compounds quickly over the machine lifecycle.

FAQ — Buying a Blow Molding Machine for Water, Beverage, and Chemical Containers

water bottle blow molding machine buyer guide · pesticide container production FAQ · ISBM vs EBM for chemical bottles

Can the same machine run both water bottle and pesticide container molds?

Yes, with mold changes and material profile adjustment. If your pesticide containers use PP (which many do for chemical resistance), you’d also need to purge the injection barrel between PET and PP runs — this takes 30–60 minutes. If both products use PET (which works fine for most pesticide formulations with lower chemical aggression), you simply swap molds and update the stretch-blow parameters. Running both on the same machine works well for manufacturers who want to use one platform across multiple product categories.

What’s the minimum wall thickness achievable for lightweight water bottles?

With this series, 0.20–0.25 mm sidewall thickness is achievable for 500 ml mineral water bottles in PET. A standard 500 ml water bottle typically weighs 9–12 g with ISBM, compared to 12–15 g for equivalent EBM output. That 3 g/bottle difference translates directly to material cost savings at scale: on a 9,200 bph line running 20 hours, saving 3 g per bottle saves approximately 552 kg of PET per production day — at current PET resin prices, that’s a meaningful daily operating cost reduction.

Does the machine meet UN transport certification requirements for pesticide containers?

The machine produces containers with the wall thickness uniformity and structural integrity needed to pass UN 3H1 / 3H2 drop, stack, and vibration tests — but UN certification is applied to the finished container, not the machine. You’ll need to submit finished container samples to an accredited test laboratory for UN certification. The ISBM process’s superior wall thickness control (vs EBM) means fewer rejections during certification testing. We can advise on wall thickness specifications and preform design that give your containers the best chance of first-pass certification.

Why choose ISBM over EBM (extrusion blow molding) for beverage bottles?

EBM is cheaper on small production volumes because tooling is simpler. But EBM beverage bottles have a visible seam, lower optical clarity, and less precise wall thickness distribution — which creates weak points under carbonation pressure and reduces shelf-life due to lower CO₂ barrier. For PET beverage bottles above 500,000 units per year, ISBM consistently delivers lower per-unit cost through better material efficiency (lighter bottles with equivalent strength), fewer rejections, and better filling-line compatibility from consistent neck dimensions. The crossover point depends on your target volume and container specifications.

How long does it take to go from order to first production sample?

Standard mold lead time is 35–50 days from approved 2D/3D drawing to first sample bottles. Machine delivery (FOB China) runs 30–60 days depending on model and production schedule. For buyers ordering a machine with standard catalog molds (500 ml water bottle, 1 L beverage bottle), sample lead times can be compressed to 25–35 days since standard mold geometry is pre-engineered. Installation and commissioning on-site typically takes 5–10 days with our engineer on location.

Can this machine produce bottles with handles, like some agrochemical and household chemical containers require?

Integrated-handle containers (where the handle is part of the blown bottle body, not a separate clip-on component) are not achievable with standard ISBM. The blow mold can include an integrated handle geometry in containers above approximately 2 litres by using a modified blow mold with a handle pocket, but this requires a more complex mold design and results in a small material webbing between the handle opening that may need trimming. For most pesticide and chemical containers below 5 litres, clip-on handles (attached post-blow) are the more practical solution. We can advise on the best approach for your specific container design during the mold consultation stage.
